LBCC ACTIVELY PARTICIPATES IN REGIONAL AND NATIONAL CASTING TOURNAMENTS

If you would like to participate in tournament casting, even if you are unsure of your casting abilities, come join us for casting games on Tuesdays at 7:00 pm or Sundays at 8:00 am, depending on the season. Be sure to check the club’s calendar in the Target Talk then Come On Out!

2025 LONG BEACH CASTING CLUB – OPEN SPEY TOURNAMENT
January 17-19, 2025

  • The Long Beach Casting Club will be hosting the 6th Annual Spey Casting Tournament on January 18th and 19th, 2025 at the Long Beach Casting Club Pond, 5201 East 7th Street, Long Beach, California.
  • This is a fun event (EVERYBODY CHEERS FOR EVERYBODY !!!!) from beginners to advanced casters. We will have some excellent Certified Two-Handed Casting Instructors who are more than happy to give some pointers at the event, along with some well-known venders.
  • Friday is dedicated to practice and some instruction.
  • Competitive casting begins with the first casters starting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Then, all casters in each Division will return on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. for the final round to determine the Tournament Division Winners.

THE JIMMY GREEN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP OF SPEY CASTING
April 11-13, 2025 > SAVE THE DATE!

The Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club (GGACC) announcing the “save the date” for the 23rd annual Jimmy Green World Championship of Spey Casting to be held from Friday, April 11th through Sunday, April 13th, 2025 at the world-renowned casting ponds located in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park (on John F Kennedy Drive across from the buffalo paddock). NORTHWESTERN CASTING CHAMPIONSHIPS
OCTOBER 20, 2023

    • Hosted by the Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club (GGACC). Fun and friendly casting competition held in conjunction with the Oakland Casting Club and San Jose Flycasters, but open to any registered person who would like to participate to test their skill against others or to just take part in the training to be offered as part of these casting games this year — all are welcome, including beginning casters!

2023 JIMMY GREEN “SPEY-O-RAMA”
April 21-23

The Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club (GGACC) held the 21st annual Jimmy Green World Championship of Spey Casting from Friday, April 21st through Sunday, April 23rd, 2023 at the world-renowned casting ponds located in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park (on John F Kennedy Drive across from the buffalo paddock).

JANUARY 21 & 22

    • The Long Beach Casting Club hosted the 5th Annual Spey Casting Tournament on January 21 and 22, 2023 at the Long Beach Casting Club Pond, 5201 East 7th Street, Long Beach, California. 

    • Our tournament is a friendly competition where we encourage and cheer for one another, from beginners to experts, Skagit to Long Belly.

    • This event is open to anyone.
